The fun begins! We eat decedantly, drink with abandon, and often skip the exercise and rest.

Resilient as our bodies are, we often pay for this with down times of lethargy, craving stimulants, feeling bloated, weight gain and general swim suit wearing anxiety!

Here are 5 simple reminders / tips to help you until your next years resolution!

·1 When not eating celebration food, stopping the decadent food cycle, even for a day can help. Have regular 3 hourly light meals of salad/veg/fruit and 1-1/2 palm size piece of protein (hommus, cheese, eggs, meats, nuts, fish). Meanwhile avoid refined foods such as white breads, pasta, biscuits and cakes.can help. ·2 Fluids are a big help for hydration and cleansing. They also have a surprising impact on energy. Keep chilled water with some chopped citrus, mint/herbal leaves or dilute blackcurrent juice on your desk to sip away at. Lemon juice is the cleansing drink of choice. Food craving can often be curbed by having something to consume. Make yummy herbal teas you enjoy that fill you a little and distract you. More satisfying teas are chai, roasted dandelion, and also good quality cocoa without sugar, but with a touch of cinnamon, for a dessert substitute.

·3 Cleansing and antioxidant super foods include; steamed broccoli, fried onions and garlic, artichoke hearts in salad, rocket leaves with balsamic vinegar and blueberries (frozen is fine and easy) in muesli. All fruit and veg are great though, so avoid filling up on grains such as rice, bread, pasta, biscuits and pack your life full of colour! For speed of preparation, choose low prep veg like asparagus, beans, rocket, baby carrots, cherry tomato, sprouts, olives, etc.

·4 Ideally, you should book two sessions of personal time per week, one during the week and one on the weekend. Do _ - 1 hour of enjoyable movement of your choice. Dance, walk, garden, run, yoga….. just be with yourself...

·5 The herbal medicine St Mary’s Thistle is the evidence-based herb of choice to support liver detoxification, weight loss and energy in times of excess.
